38장. Production Readiness Review

출시 전에는 정상 기능 시연보다 실패 계약을 review한다. driver의 server selection timeout, socket timeout, retryable reads/writes, transaction retry, pool max/min, heartbeat를 topology와 traffic에 맞춰 설명한다. 기본값을 써도 선택 근거를 남긴다.

API request timeout이 DB timeout보다 먼저 끝나는데 query가 계속 돌지 않는지, client 취소가 server operation에 전파되는지 확인한다. maxTimeMS는 가용성과 partial work의 tradeoff를 가진다. timeout 후 업무 결과가 unknown이면 멱등 query로 확인한다.

dashboard에는 request rate/error/latency와 DB operation, scanned/returned, cache, ticket/queue, connection, replication lag, oplog window, disk runway, backup age를 연결한다. alert에 owner, severity, runbook, silence 조건, 예상 사용자 영향이 없으면 완성되지 않았다.

마지막으로 primary loss, oplog window 단축, cache pressure, bad index rollout, bulk update, expired certificate, backup key loss를 table-top으로 실행한다. 각 사건에 detection, mitigation, recovery, invariant, communication, follow-up owner가 있어야 production ready다.
