The 30-second answer
Korea has two official storage systems, and they solve different problems. T-Locker is an unmanned, coin-locker-style system inside Seoul subway stations — you find a locker, pay, and come back for your own bag later. T-Luggage is a staffed counter service at six subway stations (including Gimpo Airport Station) that stores heavier bags and can same-day deliver them to another T-Luggage location, including the airport, so you do not have to carry them across the city. Airport-specific counter services (operated by Hanjin Express) also exist inside both Incheon Airport terminals for storage close to your flight. Expect about ₩2,200–₩6,100 for four hours in a subway T-Locker, ₩3,000–₩13,000 per four hours at a T-Luggage counter, and ₩17,000 or more for same-day delivery; full tables are below.
What actually stores your luggage
| Service | Type | Where | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| T-Locker | Unmanned, self-service locker | Inside many Seoul subway stations | A quick self-managed hold between sightseeing stops |
| T-Luggage | Staffed counter, same-day delivery | Seoul Station, Hongik Univ., Myeong-dong, Jamsil, Jongno 3-ga and Gimpo Airport stations; deliveries go to Incheon Airport | Heavier bags, or sending luggage ahead so you arrive empty-handed |
| Airport counter service (Hanjin Express) | Staffed counter, storage and delivery | Incheon Airport T1 and T2 arrival areas | Storing bags right before or after your flight |
Using an unmanned T-Locker: step by step
- Find a T-Locker bank inside a participating subway station — look for the locker wall near a station exit or transfer corridor.
- Choose an available locker size. Seoul lists three sizes (S, M, L) with a 4-hour base rate from ₩2,200 on weekdays, plus an hourly rate after that; the full table is below.
- For the newer lockers, Seoul’s instructions are to check availability in the T-Locker app (Korean-language only), then pay, store and retrieve through the app. Older lockers work differently, so follow the instructions posted on the locker itself.
- Keep your payment receipt or the app confirmation — it is what reopens the locker when you return.
- Lockers operate 05:00 to midnight every day, including weekends and holidays, and you cannot store or retrieve anything outside those hours.
Using T-Luggage or an airport counter service: step by step
- Decide whether you need same-station storage or same-day delivery to a different T-Luggage location (including Incheon Airport).
- Register online at the T-Luggage site (English, Chinese, and Japanese are supported) or in person at the counter, and get a baggage tag.
- Hand over the bag at the counter during its listed operating hours; airport counter hours differ by location (one T2 counter runs 24 hours); see the list under the example below.
- If you chose delivery, your bag arrives at the destination counter roughly around your requested pickup time — arrive slightly after that time rather than exactly on it.
- Pay by cash or card, either at the counter or when you finish an online booking. The fee depends on bag size, weekday vs. weekend, and whether the bag goes to Incheon Airport; the table below has the current rates.
What it actually costs (Seoul rates checked 2026-09-30)
T-Locker (unmanned, 336 locations across 273 stations, open 5 AM to midnight every day). Base rate covers 4 hours; after that you pay per hour.
| Size (W × D × H) | Weekday, 4 h | Weekend, 4 h | Each extra hour |
|---|---|---|---|
| S (50 × 30 × 60 cm) | ₩2,200 | ₩3,100 | ₩500 |
| M (50 × 45 × 60 cm) | ₩3,300 | ₩4,600 | ₩800 |
| L (50 × 90 × 60 cm) | ₩4,400 | ₩6,100 | ₩1,000 |
T-Luggage (staffed, 9 AM to 10 PM). Counters: Seoul Station (B1F near Exit 1), Hongik Univ. (B1F near Exits 3–4), Myeong-dong (B1F near Exits 9–10), Jamsil, Jongno 3-ga and Gimpo Int’l Airport Station. Storage is ₩3,000 / ₩4,000 (weekday / weekend) for a bag up to 20 inches, ₩4,000 / ₩6,000 for 20–23 inches, ₩6,000 / ₩9,000 for 23–27 inches and ₩9,000 / ₩13,000 above 27 inches, per 4 hours, plus ₩1,000 per extra hour.
| Same-day delivery | Station ↔ station | Station ↔ Incheon Airport |
|---|---|---|
| Up to 23 inches | ₩17,000 / ₩25,000 | ₩20,000 / ₩29,000 |
| 23–27 inches | ₩26,000 / ₩38,000 | ₩26,000 / ₩38,000 |
| 27–36 inches | ₩31,000 / ₩45,000 | ₩31,000 / ₩45,000 |
The Korean T-Luggage fee table names the airport end as Incheon Airport T2. If you fly from T1, ask at the drop-off counter where the bag will be handed back before you pay.
Example: checking out at 11 AM, flying out at night
Hypothetical weekday trip with one 25-inch suitcase and a hotel near Hongik Univ. Station. Storing it at the Hongik T-Luggage counter from 11 AM to 7 PM is two 4-hour blocks, ₩6,000 × 2 = ₩12,000, and you still ride AREX to the airport with the bag. Sending it the same morning from Hongik to Incheon Airport costs ₩26,000, so you pay ₩14,000 more to travel the rest of the day empty-handed. On a weekend the gap is wider: ₩18,000 for storage against ₩38,000 for delivery.
At the airport itself, Hanjin Express counters store bags too. In T1 they sit on the 1st floor near Gates 2 and 13 (07:00–21:00) and on the 3rd floor near check-in counters B and N (07:00–22:00). In T2 there is one on the 3rd floor near counter H that runs 24 hours, and one at the east end of B1 (07:00–21:00).
When things go wrong
- The T-Locker size you need is full: try a nearby station on the same line, or switch to a staffed T-Luggage counter if one is close by.
- You lose the T-Locker payment receipt: go to the station's staffed information point rather than forcing the locker; unmanned systems generally need the original payment confirmation or app record to reopen.
- Your T-Luggage delivery has not arrived at the pickup time: wait at the meeting point — services typically build in a short buffer before and after the requested time — and ask the counter staff on-site rather than assuming something went wrong.
- The airport counter is closed when you arrive: counters keep set hours and are not 24/7 at every location; check the current hours for your specific terminal and counter before planning a very early or very late drop-off.

FAQ
Can I store luggage overnight?
A T-Locker cannot be opened between midnight and 5 AM, so a bag left in the evening stays locked until the station reopens. Items left past their paid time are kept for up to one month, then donated or discarded without notice. At a T-Luggage counter, the terms say a bag that is not collected on time is charged an extra daily fee until you pick it up, so ask for that daily amount when you drop off.
Is there free luggage storage anywhere in Korea?
Not as an official, guaranteed service. Some cafes or accommodations informally hold bags for customers, but that is a courtesy, not an insured storage service — for anything valuable, use T-Locker, T-Luggage, or an airport counter instead.
Can I store luggage at Incheon Airport before I've checked a hotel?
Yes — that is one of the main uses of the airport counter services. Storing your bag right after landing lets you go sightseeing and pick it up later the same day, or before a late flight out.
What size or weight limits apply?
T-Lockers come in S, M and L (the largest is 50 × 90 × 60 cm), and T-Luggage prices bags by suitcase size up to 36 inches; anything bigger may not fit. Confirm your bag's dimensions against the current size chart at the counter or in the app before relying on it.
Do I need cash, or can I pay by card?
T-Luggage counters accept cash or card. For T-Locker, the newer lockers are paid through the T-Locker app; older lockers show their own payment instructions on the locker panel. Read that panel before you load your bag.
